PURPOSE:To obtain spring parts, etc. for an electronic clock with uniform quality while reducing the number of stages by coating the required part of the surface of a base material with a desired different metal, working the coated base material to the desired shapes, and carrying out age hardening and diffusion at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The functionally required part of the surface of a base material such as precipitation hardening type stainless steel or berylliumcopper is coated continuously or discontinuously with >=1 kind of different metal such as gold. The resulting composite material is worked to the desired shapes of parts and subjected to age hardening and diffusion under the same conditions at the same time. The diffusion by heat treatment improves the adhesive strength between the different metals. By this method timepiece parts with stable quality and superior mass-producibility are obtd. inexpensively. |
