PURPOSE:To reduce wating time and power consumption and to enhance offset resistance and fixability by heat fixing an image developed with a specified toner to a recording material by using a stationarily supported heating body and a pressing roller opposite to the body and pressing the recording material into close contact with the body by the medium of a film. CONSTITUTION:The toner to be used contains as a main binder resin a polymer of at least one of a monomer selected from aromatic vinyl monomers, and those of acrylic and methacrylic esters, having at least one peak in each of the molecular weight ranges of 1X10<3> - 2X10<4> and 3X10<5> - 1X10<7> in the chromatogram of the tetrahydrofuran-insoluble fraction amounting to 10 - 60wt.% of the polymer measured by the gel permeation chromatography. The image developed by this toner is heat fixed to the recording material 19 by using the stationarily supported heating body 11 and the pressing roller 18 opposite to the body 11 and pressing the material 19 into close contact with the body 11 through the medium of a film 15, thus permitting wating time and power consumption to be reduced, and offset resistance and fixability to be enhanced. |
