PURPOSE:To increase gripping force and flexibility of a wire by laying an insert made of soft metal between a steel core bar and a wire rope, in a diamond wire saw for cutting off building stones and the like. CONSTITUTION:This wire saw 10 is constituted so that a diamond segment 1 is connected to a steel core bar 2 and the core bar 2 is pressed into contact with a steel wire rope 4 and fixed. Further, a cylindrical insert 3 made of soft metal is inserted into whole part or one part of the inside of the steel core bar 2, and the cylindrical insert 3 together with the steel core bar 2 are pressed into contact with the wire rope 4 and fixed. Therefore, the cylindrical insert 3 is easily deformed by compression from the core bar 2, and buried in the groove of the wire rope 4, and strong gripping function to the rope is exhibited. As for extension and contraction of the wire rope 4, this large deformation easily becomes attached to the motion of wire, and injury of the contact part with the core bar 2 can be prevented by the function of the insert at extension and contraction of the wire rope 4. |
