PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-proofing agent which can give excellent flame- proofing action to synthetic fibers by micro-dispersing a halogenized organic compound of a solid at room temperature with a dispersant essentially containing a specific flame-retardation activator which has a similar chemical structure to the halogenized compound. CONSTITUTION:A halogenized organic compound of solid at room temperature such as 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexabromocyclopentane) is micro-dispersed using a dispersant essentially containing at least one of a flame retardation activator of formula I and formula II [R is O, CH2, C(CH3)2, CO, SO, SO2 or in the cases where these groups are absent, B is Br. Cl; a is 1 to 4; AO is alkylene oxide; b is 1 to 20; T is H, alkyl; M is alkali or alkaline earth metal, amine]. The treatment of synthetic fibers increases the adsorption to the fibers to develop excellent flame-proofing effect with a reduced amount of a flame-proofing agent. |
