PURPOSE: To obtain a still picture of high quality by transferring still picture data in each of consecutive pixel lines from a photodetecting array at a speed being actually lower than the speed of standard video and simultaneously obtaining reduction in data. CONSTITUTION: An electronic information signal is transferred to the column of storage elements of a memory array 22 from the row of photoresponsive pixel elements of the photodetecting array 12. Then, a picture fixing electronic information signal for the still picture is transferred from the memory array 22 through a single resistor 24, in such a manner that the electronic information signals from various pixcels of each of the successive rows of the photodetecting array 12 are made groups of the pixcel in order and various pixcels of various residual groups are dotted among various pixcels of each group. Therefore, the speed at which the still picture data is transferred from the memory 22 through the single shift register 24 is actually lower than the speed at which moving picture video data is transferred. Thus, the still picture having high resolution can be recorded by a normal video storage device.
