PURPOSE:To equalize the pressure loss characteristics of the anode and the cathode of a fuel cell so as to improve its response performance by adding pressure control devices such as valves between the anode and a reformer-heating part as well as between the cathode and the reformer-heating part. CONSTITUTION:A reforming gas supplied from a reformer 2 is fed to a fuel cell anode 4 through a shift converter 3. The exhaust gas of the anode 4 is introduced into a reformer-heating part 5 and burned in it so as to drive a turbine 9 and a compressor 10 thereby supplying air to a cathode 11. In addition, valves 24 and 25 are installed between the reformer-heating part 5 and pressure control valves 13, 16 and 20 for controlling pressure differences between the anode 4, the cathode 7 and a case 17. By controlling the valves 24 and 25, the pressure loss characteristics of the anode 4 and the cathode 7 are equalized and the pressure difference between the anode 4 and the cathode 7 is minimized regardless of different load conditions. Consequently, the speed of the response to load variation can be improved. |
