A modified bismaleimide resin is prepd. by Michael addition reaction of bismaleimide and aromatic secodary diamine at 100140 C. Pref. the mole ratio of the bismaleimideto aromatic secondary diamine is 1.2:1- 4.0:1. Pref. the bismaleimide is N,N'-1,3phenylene bismaleimide, N,N'-4,4'-diphenylmethane bismaleimide, N, N'-4,4'-diphenylsulphone bismaleimide, etc.. Pref. the aromatic secondary diamine is N,N'- dimethyl-4,4'-diamino diphenyl methane, N,N'-dimethyl-2,4-diamino toluene, or N,N'-dimethyl-2,6-diamino toluene, etc..
