PURPOSE:To readily and practically obtain the subject substance useful as a remedy, etc., for obesity by heat-treating a supernatant of an aqueous extract solution obtained from wheat (flour), removing denatured proteins and subjecting the resultant extract solution to concentrating treatment using an ultrafiltration membrane. CONSTITUTION:A supernatant of an aqueous extract solution obtained from wheat or wheat flour is heated at, e.g. 85-90 deg.C, to denature unnecessary proteins contaminating the supernatant. The produced denatured proteins are removed by centrifugation of allowing the supernatant to stand. The obtained aqueous solution is then subjected to concentrating treatment using an ultrafiltration membrane (e.g. membrane capable of cutting 100000 molecular weight) and, as necessary, dried by spraying, freezing, etc., to afford the objective substance. Furthermore, the extract solution is preferably filtered through filters having e.g. 3 and 1mum diameter, before the treatment with the ultrafiltration membrane and then passed through a precise filtration membrane having 0.2mum diameter to carry out degerming, etc. |
