PURPOSE:To keep the voltage and frequency of a generator constant with a simple device by detecting the rotating speed of the input shaft of a continuously variable transmission joined to a rotor which is rotated by receiving wind by means of a rotation sensor and controlling the gear ratio of the transmission based on the signal thereof. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a propeller type rotor 1 is transmitted to a toroidal continuously variable transmission 2 through an input shaft 3, to make an output shaft 4 rotate a generator 5. A first rotation sensor 6 for detecting the rotating speed of the input shaft 3 sends a signal to a controller 9. A second rotation sensor 7 sends the signal of the rotating speed of the output shaft 4 to the controller 9. A speed change control mechanism 8 is controlled based on the signals of the rotation sensor 6 or both rotation sensors 6, 7 to change the gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission 2, thereby keeping the rotating speed of the output shaft 4 nearly constant in spite of the change in the rotating speed of the input shaft 3 to keep the voltage and frequency of the generator 5 within a defined range. Further, the device is simple and low cost. |
