PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the expandability and at lowering the cost by joining peripheral side parts of an air bag fabricated in a bag-like shape from two groups of warp yarns with the use of a textile fabric composed of the two groups warp yarns the weft yarns so that a substantial part of air can permeate through gaps in the textile structure on the inflator attaching side. CONSTITUTION:A front woven fabric 31 and a rear woven fabric 32 are integrally jointed at its peripheries 33 by means of warp yarns and weft yarns so as to form an air bag 30. An opening 34 to which an inflator is attached is formed in the center part of the rear woven fabric. That is, a textile article is fabricated such that when a gas is produced by an energized inflator, a substantial part of gas permeates through gaps in the textile structure on the inflator attached side while substantially no gas permeates through the textile structure gaps in the other surface. For example, the range of the weft yarns in which a warp yarn is linked to, for example, upper and lower weft yarns 32T, 31T is increased and decreased suitably, and accordingly, the air-permeabilities of the driver's side woven fabric 31 and the handle side woven fabric 32 are made to be different from each other. |
