PURPOSE:To form a good finish surface which has the good boundary shape with a photosensitive layer and dimensional accuracy and is free from flaws by coating the entire surface of a substrate with a photosensitive material and mechanically removing the required part to form the uncoating part. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 1 is formed with the photosensitive layer 5 by depositing the photosensitive material consisting of a selenium alloy by vacuum evaporation over the entire outside surface of the drum-shaped conductive substrate 2 consisting of an Al alloy or coating the above-mentioned surface with the org. photosensitive material. While such photosensitive body is kept rotated around its cylindrical axis, the layer 5 is removed by a working jig 10. The good finish surface is obtd. and the boundary shape and dimensional accuracy are improved by adjusting the grinding conditions, such as rotating speed of the photosensitive body 1 and the jig 10. The exact positioning of the photosensitive body is possible if such photosensitive body is used in an electrophotographic device. In addition, the efficiency of removing toners from the surface of the photosensitive body is improved and the splashing of the toners is decreased. The contamination in this lessened. |
