PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as an introducing reagent in easy isolation and high purity by reacting a tert.-butyloxycarbonyl halide with p-dialkylsulfoniophenols in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate used as a base. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula I (t-Bu is tert.-butyl; Hal is halogen) is reacted with compounds expressed by formula II (R<1> and R<2> are alkyl; X is H, halogen or alkyl; Y<-> is halogen anion, perchloric acid group, etc.) in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate (e.g. lithium carbonate, Na2CO3, K2CO3, rubidium carbonate or cesium carbonate) to provide the compound expressed by formula III. As the alkali metal carbonate, anhydride thereof, suitably finely powdered is preferably used. |
