A flexible and gas-impermeable envelope 10 is produced whose shape corresponds substantially to the shape of the core 25. The internal volume of the flexible envelope 10 is filled with a material 23 in the form of particles, the internal volume of the envelope is isolated from the external atmosphere, a pressure substantially below atmospheric pressure is established in the internal volume 13 of the envelope 10 and then the moulding of the component 1 is carried out by using the core 25. After moulding the component, a gas is introduced into the internal volume 13 of the envelope 10 so as to establish a pressure close to atmospheric pressure, the material 23 in the form of particles is extracted from the envelope and, finally, the flexible envelope 10 is extracted from the moulded component 1. <IMAGE>
