Device for the manufacture, by moulding and compression of a material, of prefabricated structural components such as perpends, of the type comprising chiefly a mould 16 of internal shape matching the structural components, a hopper 2, 3 for filling the mould 16 with a material, a rammer 4 of shape matching the mould 16 and means for compacting the material inside the mould 16. This device is characterised in that the means for compacting comprise means for moving 31, 32, 33 the mould 16-rammer 4 combination, which are capable of moving the latter together along a vertical trajectory, means for controlling the said means for moving which are capable of raising the mould 16 and the rammer 4 together and then allowing them to fall back, and means 30 for cushioning the mould 16-rammer 4 combination. <IMAGE>
