PURPOSE:To inexpensively manufacture a steel stock excellent in corrosion resistance in a corrosive environment by galvanizing the surface of a steel stock containing specified amounts of Cr, as a steel stock for use in a building structure, with Zn or Zn alloy, or further forming a chemical conversion coating on the above, and then applying coating to the above. CONSTITUTION:As a steel stock for building structure for use in a corrosive environment, particularly in an environment of high Cl<-> concentration, the surface of a steel stock containing >6% Cr is galvanized with Zn or Zn alloy of Zn-Fe, Zn-Ni, Zn-Co, etc., by 5g/m<2> coating weight or further a chemical conversion coating is applied to the above by means of chromating, phosphating, etc., or, the surface of a steel stock containing >6% Cr is galvanized with Zn or Zn alloy by >=0.5g/m<2> coating weight and a chemical conversion coating is formed on the above, and then, coating is applied to the above. By this method, the steel stock for building structure excellent in corrosion resistance can be obtained at a low cost. |
