PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and potential stability at the time of repeated uses by forming a photosensitive layer containing a specified azo pigment having a specified organic group combined with aromatic hydrocarbon groups or heterocyclic groups on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate contains one of azo pigments represented by formula II and the structure of the formula II is formed by combining the organic group represented by formula I with the optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon groups or heterocyclic groups, optionally through bonding groups. In formuleae, X is a group necessary to condense with the benzene ring and to form an optionally substituted aro matic hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group; each of R1 and Ar is an aro matic hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group; and n is 1, 2, 3, or 4, thus permitting practicable high sensitivity and stable potential characteristics at the time of repeated uses to be obtained. |
