A method for mafg. air filter element comprises (a) cutting glass fiber of 0.1-10 micron diam. to 0.1-50 mm length, (b) dispersing into H2SO4 soln. of pH below 5.0, (c) mixing with additive i.e. nylon resin, nitrocellulose resin, silicon resin, ureaformaldehyde resin, alum, (d) dilg. with water, (e) molding by a rough-paper machine, and (f) drying and pressing. Particles of 0.3 micron in air stream of 321 L/min are collected up to 99.97% with the filter.
