PURPOSE:To prepare a sealant capable of improving the assembling properties and air-tightness of a peripheral metal fit-type oil seal by compounding a soln. of a rubber with a fine powder of a low-MW tetrafluoroethylene resin. CONSTITUTION:A sealant for a peripheral metal fit-type oil seal is prepd. by compounding a soln. of a rubber, e.g. an acrylic rubber having good adhesive properties due to a silane coupling agent contained in it, with about 5-70wt.% (solid basis) fine powder of a low-MW tetrafluoroethylene resin. The obtd. sealant improves the assembling properties and air-tightness of a peripheral metal fit-type oil seal. |
