Flash device for a variable-focus lens having an element for varying the angle of illumination which can move in the direction of an optical axis and constituted by at least one assembly 15 composed of a luminescent tube 15a, of a reflector 15b and of a capacitor. The position of the element for varying the angle of illumination is controlled by a groove 20 of a cam element 18 which moves as a function of the variation in focus. An intermediate lever 24 is mounted between the cam element and the element for varying the angle of illumination so as to rotate about a pivot 25. The intermediate lever is mounted on the pivot 25 with a connecting pin which is engaged in the groove of the cam element and a connection portion 27 which is associated with the element for varying the angle of illumination. <IMAGE>
