Binder for assembling papers by means of a plastic strip whose cross section forms an open scalene triangle. Side 1 is perpendicular to side 2 to provide the spine of the strip by forming a right angle so as to offer the desired binding capacity when the oblique side 3 forms an acute angle by way of a hypotenuse with sides 1 and 2 for a hinged opening into which the papers can be inserted. The oblique side 3 provides the binding action by clamping the papers and is provided with a solid rod 4 for the lever operation when the widest side 2 is fitted over the papers and side 3 raised by thumb pressure on the rod 4. <IMAGE>
