Device for the fixing or retention of a maxillofacial prosthesis in a cavity formed by exeresis. This device is formed by an inflatable balloon, made of an elastic and impermeable material, fixed to the said prosthesis in an hermetic manner by means of an opening forming a sleeve, the said prosthesis being provided with a valve for inflating or deflating the said balloon, one of the ends of the said valve opening out inside the said balloon and the other end being accessible from the outside. Use for the fixing of a dental prosthesis for plate obturation, an occular prosthesis, an occulofacial prosthesis, an auricular prosthesis or a nasal prosthesis. <IMAGE>
