PURPOSE:To enable prevention of clogging, a recovering function and a paper- feeding function to be achieved effectively by selectively performing a capping mode in which a cap body is brought in contact with a nozzle part of a recording head, a recovering mode in which the head is recovered into a normally operative condition, and a printing mode in which a recording appear is fed while being sucked onto a paper guide plate. CONSTITUTION:In a capping mode, a paper guide plate 13 is retracted, and a cap body 3 is brought into contact with a nozzle part 2 of a recording head 1 so as to hermetically seal the nozzle part 2. In a recovering mode, a three-way valve 8 is so set that the cap body 3 and a vacuum pump 9 communicate with each other, and the pump is operated to recover the recording head into a normally operative condition. In a printing mode, the cap body and air-sucking bodies are retracted, the paper guide plate is set into a position in front of the head, the air-sucking bodies 4 are made to abut on the rear side of the guide plate,the valve 8 is so set that the air-sucking bodies communicate with the vacuum pump, and the paper is fed while being sucked onto the guide plate. |
