PURPOSE:To uniformly fill a large amount of fine active materials by repeating an active material filling process comprising the impregnation process of a lead salt aqueous solution and the immersing process into sulfuric acid in desired cycles, then by conducting formation. CONSTITUTION:A lead salt aqueous solution is impregnated in a current collector 1 comprising a lead fiber sheet, then the current collector 1 is immersed in sulfuric acid to deposite fine insoluble lead sulfate particles which are the raw material of active material in a large number of fine pores between lead fibers. After these processes were repeated, formation is conducted. A plate 3 in which a desired amount of active material is filled in a large number of micropores between lead fibers and the fibers are strongly bonded can be obtained. |
