摘要 PURPOSE:To maintain the responsiveness of an engine brake and reduce the incompatible feeling at the time of the speed change by performing the shift down for deceleration in the slip state or the lock-up state when a brake is applied and in the weak fastened state when no brake is applied. CONSTITUTION:The engine rotating speed, turbine rotating speed, throttle opening, car speed, idle switch, and brake switch are inputted to the control unit 21 of a lock-up clutch 10. When the idle switch is turned on, i.e., deceleration, and the brake switch is turned on, i.e., a brake is depressed, it is a conscious operation, thus the improvement of the engine brake performance and fuel consumption is taken into consideration rather than a shift shock, the high-speed side shift-down is initially performed in the slip state and the lock-up state is attained as the car speed is decreased. On the other hand, when no brake is depressed, the speed change is performed in the converter state to reduce a shift shock. The brake performance and fuel consumption are improved, and the incompatible feeling at the time of the speed change is reduced.
