The drive shafts (5, 6) for the front and rear wheels are taken from a planetary gearing with the sun wheel (44) driving the front axle and the rear axle drive taken from the outer wheel via gearing from the planetary supports. The rear drive shaft (6) is located in the housing via a cylindrical bearing (8) and a sloping roller bearing (7). The two bearings are in the same plane and the roller bearing supports the drive on the housing, while the cylindrical bearing is between the shaft and a support for the planetary gears. Thrust plates (9) support the axial thrust of the drive. USE/ADVANTAGE - Compact, short differential assembly is for four wheel drive vehicle and has good torque transmission.
