The atomiser is for inhalers with a gas distribution pipe. A hollow component (58) should connect to the distribution pipe and houses the atomiser (54) as well as an impact plate (56) in the flow path (1) of the gases passing through the atomiser. Pref. the plate is spaced from the component (58) floor (2) and the component is divided by a bored (73) wall (70) into two pressure differentiated chmabers (50,52). A nozzle (72) close to the atomiser side of the wall (70) connects to gas or fluid medium. USE/ADVANTAGE - Hospital equipment, inhalers. Droplets separated out of gas flow by impact plate ahead of atomiser shield patient's respiratory tract from injury.
