PURPOSE:To enhance the property of a polyamide material for penetrating into and adhering to a reinforcing fibrous mat placed in a metallic mold and obtain a high- strength polyamide molded article, by a method wherein a mixed liquid containing a polymerization catalyst, an initiator and a reinforcing material such as fibers in a lactam is heated, and is poured into a metallic mold in a condition of a low viscosity. CONSTITUTION:A liquid 10a contained in an A-tank 1 and consisting of a lactam, a catalyst and a reinforcing material and a liquid 10b contained in a B-tank 2 and consisting of a lactam and an initiator are dissolved by heating respectively by heaters 11a, 11b and are stirred. On the other hand, the reinforcing mat 8 such as a nonwoven fabric or a woven fabric is preliminarily set in the interior of heated metallic molds 7a, 7b, and then the stirred liquids 10a, 10b are poured into the interior of the mold. Since the liquids 10a, 10b thus poured are in the condition of a low viscosity, the liquids flow smoothly in the mold, the reinforcing material such as short fibers is uniformly dispersed without being orientated, and the portions of the poured material penetrated into the mat are rigidly bonded. Accordingly, a polyamide molded article having a low degree of orientation of fibers can be obtained. |
