<p>A dental prophylactic polishing cup (1) is provided with internal turbine-like vanes or ribs (2) positioned at an angle to the rotational axis of the cup (1) in such a manner that, as the cup (1) is rotated during a dental prophylaxis, the polishing paste held in the cup and brought to bear against the surface of the tooth will be acted on by the turbine-like vanes or ribs (2) so as to force the polishing paste back into the cup, counteracting the forces that tend to dislodge and throw the paste out of the cup.</p> |
