The double row bearing has a single outer race (9) with a mounting flange (17) for securing to the vehicle and two inner rings (11,12) forming the inner races. The outer part ring (11) has a stepped profile on the shaft side (24,25) to increase the ring thickness (T) at the hub (4) fitting end. The bearings are caged and have corresp. races in the outer and inner rings. The stepped profile inner ring enables a large dia. axle to be used and a strong hub support.
