Light-wt. panel with natural stone surface - made of specified lamination of veneer and carrier layers

Light-wt. composite panels with a surface of natural stone, for use as parts of furniture or interior decoration, are made with polished natural stone plates of under 7 mm thickness which are bonded to a carrier plate. The bonding is effected by intermediate layers of specified thermoplatic material and adhesive. A natural stone plate (1), measuring e.g. 2.5x2.4 m and 15-20 thick. is bonded to a carrier plate (2) of wood, polyester, metal, aerated concrete or plaster board by an adhesive promotor(4), adhesive (5) and a thermoplastic jumper (6) with woven glass fibre tissue. The layer (3) for the natural stone veneer is made of a glass fibre mat with polyester resin impregnation. The adhesion promoter (4) is a two-component thermoplastic type and the adhesive (5) can be polyacrylate or a resorcinmtype. The adhesive between this solidified jumper (6) in the carrier (14) and the solidified layer (3) in the veneer (13) is made of PU, polyester or epoxy resin. USE/ADVANTAGE - For built-in cupboards, tables, chairs, door linings, wall and floor linings. This creates a m light-wt. natural stone lining which is simple to produce and has a wide scope of application.
