In a method and device for the orderly accommodation of resulting food-packaging items on a tray (1) provided with food, the cutlery (6) is accommodated in a receptacle (4) which is likewise deposited on the tray (1). Once the cutlery (6) is removed, food-packaging parts, such as foils, salt and pepper sachets and the like, can be accommodated in the receptacle (4), which is now empty.
