In order to provide a stackable bottle crate made of plastic, having compartments to receive the bottles and essentially closed side walls which project vertically from the bottom part and extend beyond the free end of inserted bottles, the side walls having an in particular rectangular cutout as a carrying handle near to their free edge centrally along their transverse extent, which cutout has a transverse extent corresponding at least to the mean hand width, in which manual stacking and unstacking is facilitated considerably, in particular also in the filled state, it is proposed that further vertically extending cutouts (4) of approximately equal size are arranged between the cutouts (3) and the respective crate corner. <IMAGE>
