PURPOSE:To view the numbers, symbols, etc., provided on color filter substrates used for the liquid crystal display device as an acid for judgment in analyzing the defects generated at the time of production so that the defect analysis is rapidly executed by forming the numbers, symbols or marks on the above- mentioned substrates. CONSTITUTION:The numbers 9 form 1 to 16 are provided on the respective color filter substrates 2 of the color liquid crystal display device disposed with plural pieces of the color filter substrates 2 on a glass plate 1. Namely, the numbers 9 are patterned and formed of the same material at the time of forming black stripes 6 first on the glass substrate 1. Picture elements R3, G4, G5 are then formed. A protective film and transparent electrodes are then formed, by which the color filter substrates 2 are completed. The numbers are first viewed and the used as the aid for judging whether the cause for the defect lies in the place or not in case of analyzing the defect generated at the time of the production of the color filter substrates 2. The defect analysis is thus rapidly executed. |
