PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for sizing optical fiber filaments and having excellent heat-resistance and peelability from secondary silicone-coated material by crosslinking and curing a vinyl group-containing polyorganosiloxane, etc., having introduced phenyl group in the presence of a platinum catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) 100 pts. wt. of a polyorganosilozane having a viscosity of 100-10,000cp and containing one or more vinyl groups bonded to silicon atom in one molecule, phenyl group accounting for 1-40% of organic groups bonded to the remaining silicon atoms and a (substituted) hydrocarbon group other than aromatic group and free from aliphatic unsaturated group as the other part of the organic groups, (B) 0.1-50 pts. wt. of a polyorganohydrogen siloxane which is a (substituted) univalent group containing >=3 hydrogen atoms bonded to silicon atom in one molecule and free from aliphatic unsaturated bond on the remaining organic groups and (C) 0.01-1,000ppm (based on A+B) of a platinum (compound) (in terms of platinum element). |
