A fastening element for heating pipes of floor heating systems is described, which, while encompassing a heating pipe or the like, can be inserted into an insulating plate lying on the floor and can be fixed with respect to the insulating plate by means of barbs or the like, which offer a small resistance to the insertion process and a large resistance to withdrawal of the fastening element from the insulating plate. The fastening element has at least one pull thread protruding away from it, and the barb consists of a thin rod which is fastened to the pull thread in the region of the free end thereof and is oriented, at least in its fixing position, inside the insulating plate approximately perpendicularly to the pull thread.
