PURPOSE:To improve reflection preventing function of a reflection preventing film and to change a peculiar hue of the reflection preventing film optionally by irradiating a coated base plastic material and coated base glass material with low temp. plasma. CONSTITUTION:A transparent base plastic material and a transparent base glass material which have been treated with a hard-coating material (>=1.0wt.% metal content) are treated with low temp. plasma. Thus, surface regions of the base materials are etched and a reflection preventing film consisting of a porous layer of a metal oxide (e.g. SiO, SiO2, Al2O3, etc.) is formed. When plasma gas is allowed to act on the surface of a coated base plastic material and a coated base glass material, the treating time, etc. may be selected from many combinations depending on a structure of a reactor, kinds of electric power source, frequency, type of electric discharge, and position of electrodes, etc. Thus, the hue of the reflection preventing film can be changed optionally, and the reflection preventing function of the film can be improved. |
