PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a video interface by providing an input means for inputting divided image data, an assembling means for assembling said divided data into the original one image data and a recording means for recording a multigradation image according to said one image data. CONSTITUTION:For example, a controller divides 8-bit image data VD0 - VD7 into four higher rank bits and four lower rank bits to successively send out the same. These data are inputted to a printer engine as 4-bit image data VID EO. A demultiplexer 3 distributes these image data to memories 1, 2 to be alternately written therein on the basis of a control clock CCLK. From the memory not on the writing side, the reading due to an image clock signal VCLK is performed and image data D1, D2 are successively latched by a latch circuit 4 to be converted to 8-bit image data. Image data VD is inputted to a pulse width modulation circuit 5 to enter a comparator 12 from a D/A converter 10 and a signal LD having the pulse width corresponding to image density is formed to perform printing. |
