In a packaging machine with a cutting device for the longitudinal severance of packs, it is essential that a foil strip separated out between two packs adjacent in the transverse direction be discharged satisfactorily. For this purpose, a stripping body (27, 32, 36) arranged between two knife-like cutters (21, 22) is provided. This stripping body extends on the side opposite a first knife (12) cooperating with the two cutters, within the circumference of the second cutter, and has a portion located outside the circumference of the cutters on the foil arrival side.
