Device for positioning reinforcing elements for buildings to be erected by concrete construction work, to which there may be connected the ends of steel reinforcing members intended for parts of buildings which are to be added on. Up until now, for structural parts, such as balconies, which are to be subsequently added on to a building erected by concrete construction work, the steel reinforcing members at the given add-on locations of so-called reinforcing cages, have been permitted to project over the outer wall of the building, said projecting ends being bent back, before concreting, into the reinforcing cages let into the wall. Both bending back and bending out of the reinforcing cages into the desired assembly position result in deformations of the steel reinforcing members which can no longer be eliminated and cause weakness in the reinforcement. The novel arrangement is intended to avoid these disadvantages. The device exhibits at least two clamps which are to be fitted on a spacer at a variable distance from one another and are each to be fastened releasably on a reinforcing element, a coupling for the releasable attachment of connecting steel reinforcing members being provided in each case at the outer ends of the reinforcing elements. The device avoids the necessity of bending the steel reinforcing members or the ends thereof, required for adding on further building parts, for the purpose of embedding in concrete. Consequently, weaknesses in the steel reinforcing members are effectively counteracted and, in addition, highly physical work is rendered superfluous.
