A handling appts. for a distribution chute in a shaft furnace has a cage and housing with bearings to allow chute rotation about the furnace vertical axis and pivoting about its horizontal suspension axis. Removable parts allow the chute to pass through for mounting and dismounting via a ramp on a platform on the head of the furnace. Two rolling rings drive the chute on its respective axes.
