PURPOSE: To enable electric terminal members to be mechanically assembled into a predetermined configuration by providing a housing with at least two grooves and a coding means comprising two pins that can fit and move into and out of the grooves. CONSTITUTION: Grooves 10 of T-cross section are provided in the top wall 3 and bottom wall 2 of a housing 1 made of a synthetic housing taking the form of a rectangular solid, in such a way that the grooves 10 are parallel to the side walls 4, 5 of the housing and at a predetermined interval to each other, with the front wall 6 of the housing serving as the starting point of each groove 10. The housing is coded as desired by closely fitting T-shaped pins 15 into the grooves 10. In this embodiment, in which ten plugs are provided according to whether or not the pins in the grooves are present, 1024 kinds of codes can be obtained. Further, an engagement finger piece 20 and an engagement eyelet part 21 which project respectively from the right and left walls 4, 5 are provided and engaged with the same members of another housing, so that a number of housings are connected together to make possible mechanical operations and coding while the housings are assembled into a band shape. |
