PURPOSE: To attain many displays with a fixed transmission quantity of information by selecting and displaying prescribed display contents out of plural stored display contents based on time counted by a timer means and a message number transmitted from a base station. CONSTITUTION: This selective call receiver is constituted of a receiver body 2 and an IC card 4 attachable/detachable to/from the body 2. A signal RW transmitted from the base station is constituted of sixteen bits, four bits form the leading bit are allocated to message numbers (0 to 15) and succeeding twelve bits are allocated to call numbers. A counter 24 successively outputs time data (0 to 5). Even when the transmission quantity of information is fixed. Required message data can be selected from ninety-six kinds of message data stored in a ROM 22 and displayed based on the message number (0 to 15) and time data (0 to 5). Since the message data stored in the ROM 22 can be rewritten on occasion, the contents of each message are not known by an outsider. |
