PURPOSE:To prevent the outflow of ammonia by installing an apparatus for removing ammonia component in treated exhaust gas discharged from an apparatus for treating nitrogen oxide. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus 6 for decomposing or decomposing and recovering ammonia is installed just behind an apparatus 4 for treating nitrogen oxide. Since a high inlet temp. is ensured, ammonia is decomposed at an increased rate. Ammonia is decomposed with a catalyst having high activity to the decomposition of ammonia. The catalyst may be obtd. by carrying a metal such as Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Pt, Pd, Ag or Mo on an oxide such as titanium oxide or alumina. Secondary pollution due to the outflow of ammonia can be prevented. |
