PURPOSE:To obtain a color image having improved tone and improved preservability of picture by constituting a silver halide color photographic sensitive material having a photographic emulsion layer having a specified dry film thickness and a specified degree of swelling and incorporating a specified color developing agent into a color developer. CONSTITUTION:A dry film thickness of a photographic emulsion layer of a silver halide color photographic sensitive material is regulated to <=17mum, and a degree of swelling of the photographic emulsion layer is regulated to <=3.5. A color developer contains >=7.0X10<-3>mole/liter color developing agent expressed by the formula I. In the formula, R1 is a (substituted) 1-4C alkyl group; n is an integer 1-4; HX is HCl, H2SO4, p-toluene sulfonic acid, HNO3 or H3PO4. Thus, a color image having superior tone and preservability of picture is obtd. |
