MANUFACTURE OF FIBER REINFORCED SYNTHETIC RESIN PIPE BODY

PURPOSE:To omit or simplify the process for opening holes in a pipe body after a resin is set by forming opening holes to the pipe body before the resin is cured. CONSTITUTION:Before a resin is cured, opening holes are formed in a part of a pipe body. In manufacturing a fiber reinforced synthetic resin pipe body through filament winding or sheet winding process, opening holes are formed in a part of the pipe body by adjusting the winding pattern. If it is desired to form the opening holes in a specific shape, a core metal having a protrusion that is detachable from the surface of the core metal or to be housed within the core metal may be used. When a bundle 2 of fibers is wound around the core metal 1, the bundle is generally maintained at a predetermined angle (alpha: winding angle) to the axial center of the core metal. There is formed a diamond- shape mesh 3 on the core metal where the bundles intersect with each other. At least one of the angles of the diamond mesh 3 is twice the winding angle. The part of the mesh 3 where the reinforcing fiber is not present from the opening hole in the pipe body after the resin is cured.
