<p>PURPOSE:To improve engine output over the entire operating speed range by dividing into two chambers the inside of a primary surge tank connected with a primary manifold fitted for a low speed operation range, and installing a single primary valve inside the primary surge tank, which opens in a speed range over medium speed. CONSTITUTION:The inside of a primary surge tank T is divided into an upper and lower chambers S1, S2 with a bulkhead 30. The chambers S1, S2 are alternately connected with primary manifolds 16-1... which are fitted with a low speed operation range. A single primary valve is installed at an end inside the primary surge tank T1, which opens in a speed range over medium speed to communicate the chambers S1 and S2. All secondary manifolds 16-2... are connected with a secondary surge tank T2, and secondary valves V2 are installed in the vicinity of connecting points to the secondary surge tank T2 inside each secondary manifold 16-2, which open in a high speed operation range. The primary valve is opened and closed with an actuator.</p> |
