PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of heat exchange between flowing gas and a honeycomb body by a method wherein a tubular body is penetrated through and fixed to the central part of a honeycomb structural body in parallel to a through hole while the honeycomb structural body and the tubular body are made of a highly heat conduc tive ceramic. CONSTITUTION:A tubular body 1 is a molded form obtained by extrusion molding of a kneaded product, obtained by kneading the ceramic material powder such as SiC, AlN and the like added with the proper amount of sintering assistant and binding agent, through a predetermined mold while a honeycomb structural body 2 is also obtained by the same method. The honeycomb structural body 2 is provided axially with a plurality of through holes 12a, through which heat medium flows, and a penetrat ing hole 2b axially at the center of the same while the honeycomb structural body 2 is calcined under a condition that the tubular body 1, obtained by extrusion molding, is penetrated through the through hole 2b whereby a heat exchanger 3, consisting of the honeycomb structural body 2 and the tubular body 1 penetrating through the structural body 2, may be obtained. The honeycomb heat exchanger is provided with the small flow resistance of heat exchanging medium and can be used sufficiently at a high temperature while the heat exchanging efficiency of the same may be very high. |
