The invention aims in particular to solve the problems associated with the weatherproofing and with ease and safety of fitting during the installation of roof components requiring an opening in the roof. The fitting can in future be carried out in two separate stages, a provisional mounting frame 17 facilitating the fitting of trimmers 14 and of inserts 7 whose elbows 8 form a bearing shoulder for the fitting and fixing of the roof component frame 9 in the receiving space of an opening 1 advantageously stiffened by a dovetail section 4. The invention is of interest to specialists and amateurs interested in the manufacture or fitting of roof components: windows, smoke vents, air vents and skylights etc. <IMAGE>
