PURPOSE:To effect sterilization treatment in a pressure vessel by applying liquid pulse discharge to the liquid to be treated under simultaneous pressurization thereby the pressure for sterilization can be reduced, the life of the pressure vessel is prolonged and the production costs are reduced, because the wall thickness can be thinned and the weight is lightened. CONSTITUTION:A pressure vessel 1 is filled with a liquid to be treated by opening the sucking valve 9 and driving the pump 18, then, the valve 9 is closed, and the vessel is pressurized with the piston 2. Then, high-voltage pulse is generated in the generating circuit 8 and discharged between the wire-cylinder electrodes 7. The high pressure is released and the discharge is stopped, and the high-pressure valve 10 is opened to take out the treated product from the vessel 1. |
