<p>PURPOSE:To decide on a line of coordinate points which constitute a substroke, to performing entire-area processing and local-area processing in combination, and to recognize characters and graphs accurately, by generating the substroke on the basis of change points of coordinates of the coordinate point line in one coordinate direction. CONSTITUTION:A character or graph on a tablet 10, inputted with a stylus pen 11, is stored in a coordinate-point-line storage memory 12, and a change-point detecting circuit 13 detects and stores coordinate points of respective substrokes in a charge-point storage memory 14. On the basis of the output of this memory 14, entire-area processing is performed through a difference circuit 15 for a difference between change points, a comparing circuit 16, a converting circuit 17 for surface structure labels, an entry buffer 18, etc., to output the surface structure labels in the form of code information. Further, local-area processing is performed through a distance extracting circuit 19 which inputs the outputs of the memories 12 and 14, a difference extracting circuit 23, a histogram storage memory 20, deciding circuits 21 and 24, a comparing circuit 25, etc., to decide on whether a coordinate point line constituting a substroke is a straight line or curved line, thereby outputting the code information.</p> |
